Details
Name Computer Vision Engineer
Company UUG.AI
Description

Computer Vision Engineer at UUG.AI
Full-time | Ghent, Belgium | Hybrid

UUG.AI turns camera streams into useful, real-time signals for operations teams. Work across the computer vision model lifecycle: from framing a problem and preparing data to evaluating, deploying, and observing a model in production.

This role is for an engineer who enjoys making computer vision reliable beyond a notebook. You will work with recordings from varied environments, constrained edge hardware, GPU-backed inference, and the teams that turn model output into workflows people can trust.

What you will work on
- Build and improve detection, segmentation, classification, and multi-object tracking pipelines.
- Define datasets, evaluation sets, and metrics that reflect real customer operating conditions.
- Optimise inference for edge devices and GPU clusters, balancing accuracy, latency, and cost.
- Package and serve models through our production inference stack, including NVIDIA Triton where appropriate.
- Investigate model failures using recordings, telemetry, and user feedback, then turn findings into measurable improvements.
- Collaborate with platform, workflow, and frontend engineers so model output is understandable and actionable.

About you
- Hands-on experience building computer vision systems with Python and PyTorch or a comparable framework.
- An understanding of model evaluation and representative metrics and test sets.
- Comfortable with video, image processing, OpenCV, and practical production-inference trade-offs.
- Able to move between experimentation and engineering: tests, containers, APIs, profiling, and operational debugging.
- Clear communication and willingness to own a problem with support from the team.

Helpful experience
YOLO-family models, tracking or segmentation; NVIDIA Triton, CUDA or TensorRT; MLOps, dataset versioning and monitoring; camera protocols, streaming media or edge computing; Go or C++ alongside Python.

How we work
We value strong communication, disciplined and honest engineering, teamwork, and ownership. You do not need to match every point: tell us what you bring and where you want to grow.
